Quilt

I finally finished the quilt I started last year.  I love how it turned out.  I especially enjoyed learning something new and enjoyed the entire process.  It was a great learning experience and I look forward to making more quilts and getting better and better with each one.  It's going to be a fun little quilt to take on picnics or to use around the house.

Beach Towels

These just make me excited for the upcoming months.  I saw these beach towels at Costco and fell in love with the colors.  Love it!  Can't wait to use them this summer and look forward to all the memories we will have.

Anniversary

My sweetheart gave me the most beautiful tulips EVER!  I just love white and red together.  I've been completely spoiled with tulips this month and it's been amazing!  I can't express how much I love having fresh flowers in the house.  It's help me make it through the winter months of January and Febraury.  I have enjoyed them so much.  Part of enjoying them for me is to take pictures of them.  Hence, all the pictures I have posted.  Tulips have got to be one of my absolute favorite flowers.  Love them!

We had a great anniversary spent together going to the home shows, dinner and then to a movie.  I cherish the time I get to spend with my sweetheart.  It was a great day celebrating 16 wonderful years together.

Valentines 2012

Valentines this year was fun.  I love Pinterest and used it to find some free printables.  I put these candy bars in the kids mailboxes and I also made a basket for my sweetheart of some of his favorite things.  The kids love Gatorade so I thought some red Gatorade would be a fun and different Valentines.  I did our traditional heart waffles for breakfast and made some strawberry milk to add a little pink to our morning.

After the kids went to school my parents called and wanted to go on a ride.  I always enjoy spending time with them and enjoyed our little excursion.  It really brought back memories of the old days when it was just the 3 of us before I got married.  Love my parents!

D and I went out to lunch and enjoyed some time together.  So grateful he is in my live.  Don't know what I would do without him!  D and I had a surprise b-day party that night for a good friend so we got the kids pizza and they had their own little dinner.  I usually do a nice dinner for Valentines for the family but some years you just have to roll with the punches.  All in all it was a fun and memorable day.

 Breakfast

My sweetheart gave me some of the most beautiful tulips ever!  I absolutely love them and have enjoyed them so much.  Some people think flowers are a waste of money but for me they are worth every penny.  They bring something special to our home and I love it.  They also bring joy into my daily routine.  So grateful for flowers!

Love having some on my nightstand.

Tulips

I know I have written and taken a lot of pictures of flowers...especially of tulips but it truly is something I LOVE and enjoy.  They brighten my day.  My sweetheart gave me some tulips last weekend and I have enjoyed them so much this week.  I have some in my kitchen and some on my nightstand.  It truly amazes me how much happiness these simple flowers can give to me on a daily basis but they do and I'm so grateful for them.  They get me so excited for spring and the up coming months.  If I could afford it I would always have some fresh flowers in my home.   I love having a nice clean kitchen with some fresh flowers by the sink.  Can't get much better than that!  So grateful for the beauties of this earth that we get to enjoy if we take the time to do it.  Thank you sweetheart for bringing such loveliness into our home.  I feel so blessed!  Walmart is a great place to get some cheap flowers...that is where these tulips came from.  I think they are $5 for a bunch of them.  So worth it to me.

They just make me smile seeing them on my nightstand. Next to book I'm reading "The Happiness Project". (great book by the way)

Valentine Mailboxes

Our mailboxes are out and the love notes have begun.  Love this tradition.  I especially love that we have one for Wyatt.  It does my heart good to be able to write my thoughts and love to my youngest child.  I have no doubt he gets the messages we write to him.
