Laundry Room

A couple of years ago I decided to paint the laundry room blue.  I have loved it so much.  It use to be green...not one of my favorite colors.  I'm not sure what I was thinking when we originally painted that color but I love the new fresh blue look.  I decided to use the windows from the Hatch house to decorate above the cabinets.  I love how they look.  I enjoy having things that have meaning in our home.
The $10 chair from DI that I painted and put new fabric on.

Calendar pictures I had D make frames for to put above the washer and dryer.

January

I can't believe how fast January has gone by.  It was a busy month and a good month.  I spent a lot of the month going through closets, drawers, rooms and getting rid of anything we really did not need.  Still have some areas to do like the garage and storage room but it feels good to have things in order.  I love to organize but I think the part I love the most is the end result.  It's almost like a high for me to go into a room I've organized and enjoy the peace and calm I feel in it.  For me it brings a sense of happiness.  I enjoy January for this very fact.  It's always the month I get things in order for the rest of the year.

I've also spent the first part of the month working on my planner and getting my goals set for the year.  It's been good.  I found some ideas online and then put together the things I wanted in mine.  Still have some tweaking to do but I feel like I'm more organized and have everything in one place. Here are a few pictures of my planner.

This is something I have incorporated in my daily schedule and it's worked so good. I truly feel like I'm on top of the cleaning around the house by doing "my jobs" each day.  It's been great!

California

D had a business meeting in California after Christmas so we decided to go down as a family and make it part of the kids Christmas present.  I wrapped up a card that said we were going to California. The kids were very excited!  We had Sea World tickets that were still good so we decided to spend a day there.  It was fun with some Christmas programs and winter things they didn't have when we went in March.

We also spent a lot of time at the beach.  I forgot to take my camera to most everything we did in San Diego.  We went to Coronodo beach for the first time and it was awesome.  A new favorite for us. We had such a fun time together playing games, swimming, shopping, eating out and going to Sea World.  It was a fun little vacation and get away.  Hopefully one the kids will always remember. Here are the pictures I took at our favorite beach near Newport.  We watched the sunset...it was beautiful!!

Christmas 2011

Our family in front of the Christmas tree. As you can see I made sure a picture of Wyatt was part of it.  We had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed being together as a family.  As each year goes by without Wyatt we continue to wonder how much he would have enjoyed that particular Christmas and we dream of the day when we do get to see him opening presents. We love him and miss him.  Each Christmas I have a gift from Wyatt to the family.  Usually a game.  This year it was a Wii game.  I forgot to take a picture of it along with his stocking still hanging when all the rest are down.  Something I have done each year.  Here are a few pictures of Christmas morning along with a couple from Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Hay wanted a picture in front of Grandma and Grandpa's tree.

 Excited!!
